Maggie on the go

After a full morning of pushing the laundry basket around the house, we decided to buy Maggie something that was actually designed to help her walk! So, here she is. Just 10 months old and already heading out to see the world. She made it down the driveway and all over the yard.

Some "Firsts"

Maggie is coming up on 10 months now! She is so busy, crawling everywhere and now standing. Today she stood alone for 15 seconds and was so proud of herself! Last week in France she said her first word, "kaboom". She has been standing holding on to things and when she would sit down on her bum, I would always say "kaboom"! She sat back last week, looked up at me, and said "Kaboom!" What an interesting first word.

Pont Du Gard

June 2008 France

We just returned from a week in the South of France to round out our time here in Europe. We could not have asked for a better way to spend time with the family than enjoying great weather, views, food & wine. There are tons of pictures of us enjoying the sites & the markets. I don't usually put a link up for the places that we stayed at, but I will make an exception this time. The place that we stayed at was amazing. Our hosts were so helpful & kind and the location was perfect... it made Barton Bendish look like a BIG CITY! www.saintcastor.com I can not wait to return to a little piece of heaven!

Taking the folks to London

On our way to London!

The Big Tease

The weather here in England was beautiful here last week. Just before we leave for the states for good, the weather gods are teasing us with the sun. Almost makes me forget the long, dark January & February.

In celebration of the British summer, we had our neighbors round and enjoyed a glass or two of Pimms. YUM!
Bottom of the Pimms jug.

Open Gardens

Every Summer the villages around here open up their gardens for people to poke around in. Mom & I went to the neighboring village and we met the most relaxed cat in the village out lounging in the sun. Does anyone know what type of plant this is??

Home Sweet Home???

The weather was perfect in May for an explosion of our garden. We could not even see our house when we returned!!!

Riding the wonder horse

After the Indy we headed to the farm to ride the wonder horse Ellie. She is one of Bill's favorite horses... sorry, she IS Bill's favorite horse and we now know why. She is so gentle and smart... she even let Maggie ride her!

Le Bebe Shower

Baby Riley was showered with gifts this past weekend. It was really fun to have all of the girls round the Capitola house for some goodies. Erin looked so pretty and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of a baby girl at the end of August. I am practising my newborn caregiver skills 'just in case' I get the call that the nightshift is free.
If you can't tell, it was a French theme for the shower. No, mom it was not a parrot theme! Anyways, look how pretty the cake was. Grandma Gayle did it again.
Erin with her stack of serious presents... lucky girl!AND... I must give a shout out to the MOST beautiful pregnant girl and our MOST favorite Texan! They are so cute!

The Race begins
