July 2007: Happy 4th!

The annual Smith family 4th of July party was another great success! After raining for 1 month straight, the skies finally gave us one day of sunshine and it just so happened to be on the day of the party. We had nearly 100 people join us in celebrating the 4th of July! The village came out to celebrate along with 31 sq and our American friends. This year, John had real fireworks to set off for all of the kids (not the 'kinda' fireworks that they found in the squadron last year!).

June 2007: London

As an early Father's Day present, John & I went to see Peter Gabriel in concert in Hyde Park. We had a perfect night planned and stayed just two blocks from the park at the RAF hotel. Too bad the British weather did not agree with our perfect plans... Check out John in the tube station where we had to take refuge after the downpour started. We had only walked about 100 yards and we were soaked!

June 2007: Trip to Cali

We had a great time in the states! My great friends threw a baby shower for little Miss Smith in Capitola. It was so much fun to see everybody! While the girls were doing girly things... the boys went out to hit the waves. After a few attempts at putting on the wetsuit correctly, the boys from the midwest hit the surf and came home with some war stories.

May 2007: Ireland

A quick trip to Ireland before we head home for a long awaited visit. We flew into Cork, rented a car, and headed around Bantry and Kenmare staying at both the Bantry House and thanks to Carol & Bret a beautiful night at Sheen Falls Lodge!

May 2007: Dunboy Castle

No trip to Ireland is complete without a trip to see "Dad's" castle. Little did we know that someone else also had their eye on the castle! To our surprise a new 5-star hotel was being built! I guess he was not the only one to think that there was something special about the location!

May 2007: Ange & Eri come to visit!

Cousin Ange & cute baby Eri come for a visit. He had a great time exploring the new world of crawling and having mom chase him! We had fun going to the farm down the road to see the new babies of spring. John taught Eri all about life on the Farm, introduced him to new baby pigs and the rather large mama pigs! We saw a Dundee dog hard at work and then down for a long rest.

It's a girl... At least we are almost sure it is a girl! 24 weeks and growing

February 2007: Paris and London

Gianna came to visit! We decided to spend the weekend in Paris and headed straight from the airport to the chunnel. A few hours drive later we arrived in Paris. John , Gianna and I met up with our friends Kim & her girls and enjoyed some true french food. After a few days of eating and drinking, we headed to London for some sightseeing and shopping.
